Portugal captain, Cristiano Ronaldo, has etched his name deeper into football history after becoming the second-oldest player ever to score at a FIFA World Cup.

The 41-year-old forward reached the remarkable milestone on Tuesday when he netted twice in Portugal’s emphatic 5-0 victory over Uzbekistan at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Ronaldo’s brace, scored at the age of 41 years and 138 days, places him behind only legendary Cameroon striker Roger Milla on the list of the oldest goalscorers in World Cup history.

Milla set the record during the 1994 FIFA World Cup in the United States, scoring against Russia at the age of 42 years and 39 days.

The latest achievement further cements Ronaldo’s legacy as one of football’s greatest players, adding another record to his illustrious international career.
