Lagos-based influencer David Obadiah, popularly known as Baddy of Lagos, has shared a heartwarming update on his recovery journey after undergoing orthopedic surgery in Egypt.

The social media personality revealed that he has begun taking his first steps with a straightened leg, marking a major milestone in his healing process. The surgery, aimed at correcting a congenital condition that left his legs bowed, was made possible through a crowdfunding campaign spearheaded by fellow influencer Wizarab.

Due to the complexity and intensity of the medical procedure, the surgery was carried out in stages, with only one leg operated on at a time. Baddy explained that he must fully recover from the operation on his right leg before returning to Egypt for the second surgery.

Taking to his X (formerly Twitter) page, Baddy shared a photo of himself walking with the aid of a crutch while expressing deep gratitude to those who supported his journey.

“First steps with my leg post-surgery. Y’all gave me this. So I have to fully heal from my right leg before I can go back to Egypt for the left one. It was impossible to do both at the same time,” he wrote.

The update has drawn widespread reactions online, with fans and fellow influencers celebrating his progress and applauding the collective effort that made the life-changing surgery possible.

Baddy’s recovery story continues to highlight the power of community support and crowdfunding in transforming lives beyond social media.
