Afrobeats singers Seun Kuti and Peter Okoye, popularly known as Mr P, have reconciled and ended their public feud after months of disagreements sparked by the 2023 presidential election.

The rift between the two musicians began when Seun Kuti openly criticised Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi, a comment that drew a sharp response from Mr P and ignited a heated exchange between both artistes on social media.

Following the prolonged online clash, the duo surprised fans after they were recently seen embracing at a nightclub in Lagos, signalling an end to their differences.

Speaking during the encounter, Kuti played down the feud, stressing the need for unity among entertainers despite political differences.

“We are artistes, we can’t be fighting over politicians,” he said, a statement Mr P reportedly agreed with.

The reconciliation has been widely welcomed by fans and industry watchers, many of whom praised the artistes for choosing peace over prolonged rivalry, especially over political disagreements.

The development underscores growing calls for harmony within Nigeria’s entertainment industry amid politically charged debates.
