The Convener of the BAT Ideological Group, Bamidele Atoyebi, has extended financial support to a chairmanship aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Bwari Area Council, alongside 10 councilorship aspirants contesting in the local government.

Speaking during the presentation, Atoyebi said the cash donation reflects the group’s core values of sacrifice and unwavering support for party members, particularly during critical political periods such as elections.

“This support is based on what we represent as a BAT ideological group, giving support and sacrifices for others, most especially our party members and aspirants in times like this,” he stated.

He noted that many aspirants make substantial personal and financial commitments to reach the campaign stage, stressing that party stakeholders have a responsibility to rally behind them.

“They’ve spent a lot to get themselves to this point and we feel it’s very necessary for all party stakeholders to lend their support at this point. This is what Asiwaju has taught us  to be party realists and prioritise party members always,” he added.

According to Atoyebi, the gesture aligns with the political philosophy and leadership style of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, popularly known as Asiwaju, whose ideals the group seeks to uphold.

The support comes ahead of local government elections in the Federal Capital Territory, where party mobilisation and grassroots backing are seen as key determinants of success.
