Former Big Brother Naija housemate Queen Atang became one of the standout personalities at the 12th edition of the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards after arriving on the red carpet in a bread-inspired outfit.

The reality TV star attended the award ceremony held in Lagos on Saturday, drawing widespread attention with the unconventional look, which she later linked to her food business.

Explaining the concept in a post shared on Instagram, Atang said she appeared at the event “as an entrepreneur who runs a bread empire,” noting that the fashion choice was deliberate and reflective of her brand identity.

She added that the outfit aligned with the AMVCA’s celebration of creativity and craftsmanship. Her appearance also featured a jug prop, which formed part of the artistic presentation on the red carpet.

Videos circulating online showed the former reality star carefully adjusting the elaborate outfit while moving through the venue, triggering mixed reactions from social media users. While some praised the creativity behind the concept, others questioned the practicality of the design.

The 12th edition of the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards showcased a variety of bold and expressive fashion statements from celebrities, influencers, and film industry personalities, with guests interpreting themes of excellence and innovation in unique ways.

Organised by MultiChoice, the awards celebrate outstanding achievements in African film, television, and digital content.

This year’s ceremony featured 32 award categories, including 18 jury-decided awards, 11 audience-voted categories, and three special recognition honours. Organisers also introduced two new regional categories for Best Indigenous Language Film in North Africa and Central Africa to expand representation across the continent.
