Carolyna Hutchings Urges Public to Stop Linking Her to RHOL Cast Disputes: “The Show Is Over for Me”
Nollywood actress and filmmaker Carolyna Hutchings has publicly asked fans and the media to stop associating her with ongoing disputes among cast members of The Real Housewives of Lagos (RHOL), stating firmly that she has moved on from the reality series.
In a lengthy Instagram post, Hutchings reflected on her time on the show and made it clear she no longer wants any connection to the personal lives, conflicts or activities of her former co-stars.
“What I find unfair is that a show that ended in the first two months of 2025 is still being used to define who I am in 2026,” she wrote.
The veteran entertainer, who has spent more than two decades in the industry, emphasised that her career and personal life should not be reduced to her brief stint on reality television. She highlighted her body of work, which includes appearances in more than 60 movies, three award-winning films as a producer, and the creation of jobs for over 500 people and talents.
Describing herself as an introvert who carefully guards her personal space, Hutchings was unambiguous about her relationships with the RHOL cast.
“I have said this several times, but apparently it needs to be said again: NO CAST MEMBER OF RHOL IS MY FRIEND NOT ON THE SHOW, NOT AFTER THE SHOW.”
She stressed that her kindness should never be mistaken for friendship and noted that she had made her stance clear both during the show’s airing and in a subsequent television interview.
Hutchings also addressed recent social media conversations in which content she posted for unrelated reasons was dragged into cast disputes.
“Recently, there was a dispute between two cast members and somehow my video was circulated and used to demean one of them over a matter I have absolutely no interest in. Keep me out of it.”
She expressed frustration that a promotional post for one of her movies was also linked back to the reality show, despite her current focus on other projects, including two films and a book launch.
“As an award-winning actress and producer with over two decades of experience, I find it appalling that my career, achievements and body of work can be reduced to 13 episodes of a reality TV show.”
Hutchings said she is now concentrating on her acting, filmmaking, businesses and personal goals, with no interest in online drama. While she described her RHOL experience as memorable and thanked the producers, Showmax and Africa Magic for the opportunity, she declared the chapter closed.
“THE SHOW IS OVER FOR ME. I HAVE MOVED ON.”
She left the door slightly open for a possible return, noting that any future decision would be hers alone: “If I decide to return for another season, trust me, I will deliver excellently, as I always do whether as the saint or the villain.”
For now, however, her message to the public is clear:
“BUT FOR NOW. LET ME ENJOY MY REALITY IN PEACE.”
“LEAVE ME OUT OF THE DRAMA.”
