Grammy-nominated Nigerian singer Davido has revealed he’s rethinking his plans to enter politics, citing the difficulties celebrities often face when moving into the political arena.
In a recent Twitch livestream with streamer Davrel, Davido reflected on how his successful music career and legacy make the leap into politics a complex decision.
“Before, I wanted to go into politics, but honestly, now, I see it two ways. All my years of goodwill, my name and my career, all the hard work and the fan base we have built—it is tricky,” Davido said.
He explained that many high-profile entertainers who tried their hand at politics have not met with success. “I feel like if you are a politician, you are a politician. It is like it is their business,” he added.
