The Nigeria Police Force has arrested controversial entertainer DJ Chicken following a viral video in which he allegedly threatened the life of Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
DJ Chicken had sparked outrage after a video surfaced online in which he claimed President Tinubu would not secure re-election in the 2027 presidential election. He further alleged that if the president emerged victorious, he would kill Seyi Tinubu.
The video quickly went viral, with reports of the entertainer’s arrest circulating across social media platforms shortly afterward.
Confirming the development during a livestream on Thursday night, content creator Tunde Perry disclosed that DJ Chicken had been taken into police custody.
According to Perry, the arrest was triggered by the controversial video, stressing that while President Tinubu and his son were not directly responsible for the action, individuals close to the presidency reportedly facilitated the process.
He said DJ Chicken made the video despite knowing that President Tinubu is expected to be the only Yoruba candidate in the 2027 presidential race and that his alleged threat against Seyi Tinubu prompted intervention by authorities.
The Nigeria Police Force has yet to issue an official statement on the arrest.
