Former Big Brother Naija housemate, Pere Egbi, has cautioned young single women in Nigeria against living alone, stressing that it poses serious safety risks.
In a post shared on X (formerly Twitter), Egbi advised women to live with trusted companions such as friends or family members, noting that having someone around can provide both companionship and added security.
“Personal advice to young women living in Nigeria who are single: don’t live alone by yourself. Have someone stay with you always — a friend or family member. It’s never a cool thing to live alone as a woman,” he wrote.
Egbi’s remarks come in the wake of the tragic death of Abuja-based singer, Ifunanya Nwangene, who reportedly died after suffering a snake bite in her residence.
Responding to questions on whether his advice was influenced by the incident, the reality star replied, “Everything,” adding that living alone is not ideal for anyone, regardless of gender, due to safety concerns.
His comments have since sparked conversations online about personal security, especially for individuals living alone in urban areas.
