Nollywood actress Omeche Oko has recounted a near-death experience after she was involved in a serious motorbike accident during a film shoot in Lagos, just three days before her birthday.
The actress shared footage of the incident on her Instagram page on Wednesday, showing the moment she and her colleague, Victory Michael, crashed into a pole while filming a scene on a motorcycle.
According to the video, Michael, who was riding the bike, collided with a pole on set, causing him to briefly lose consciousness, while Oko sustained a broken leg in the impact.
Crew members and colleagues on set quickly rushed to assist the injured actors before they were taken to an undisclosed medical facility for treatment.
Reflecting on the incident, Oko described the experience as a stark reminder of life’s uncertainty.
“Life is very very fragile. It could have been a different story but God said No. If you see an actor today, give them a hug. We take a lot of risks for the craft. All I can say is thank you God,” she wrote.
Following her post, several Nollywood colleagues, including Mofe Duncan, Chinenye Nnebe, Chizzy Alichi Mbah, Nkechi Blessing Sunday, Nosa Rex, Chidi Dike, Toyin Abraham Aladese, Doris Ifeka, Onyi Alex, as well as producers Uche Nancy and Toyosi Etim Effiong, flooded the comment section with messages of support and prayers.
