Governor Dapo Abiodun has extended Easter greetings to Christians in Ogun State and across Nigeria, calling on them to embrace the enduring values of sacrifice, love, and unity as they mark the celebration.
In his Easter message, the governor described the season as a powerful reminder of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, which he noted symbolises hope, redemption, and victory over adversity.
Abiodun urged the faithful to reflect deeply on the core virtues associated with Easter—selflessness, humility, forgiveness, and compassion—stressing that these principles are vital for fostering a peaceful and progressive society.
He also encouraged residents of Ogun State to use the festive period to offer prayers for sustained peace, progress, and prosperity, both within the state and across the nation.
Reaffirming his administration’s commitment to good governance, the governor assured citizens of ongoing efforts to improve their welfare and deliver sustainable development.
While wishing Christians a joyful and peaceful Easter celebration, Abiodun called for steadfast faith and optimism, noting that triumph often follows periods of trial.
“Easter reminds us that after every trial comes triumph. Let us continue to work together in unity and faith for the collective good of our dear state,” he said.
