Crisis has erupted in a town called Ketu-Ejinrin in Ikosi-Ejinrin local council Dev. Area under Epe local govt area of Lagos State.
Ten years ago, the town coronated It King, named Oba Adegboyega Adefowora the Alaketu of Ketu Kingdom.
However, the story took a new twist on Sunday 1st of November, 2015 when members of the community gathered hailing a new King; a development that confirmed the town now has two kings.
The name of the second/controversial king is Prince Jide Adefowora.
Prince Jide Adefowora, we gathered is the son of the past king, Oba Adeyemi Adefowora who was beheaded yrs ago; a senior brother to the father of the present King.
PorscheClassy gathered that Jide Adefowora was the chosen one, but the mother knowing the circumstances surrounding the death of his father flew him out of the country.
We also gathered that Oba Adefowora was not chosen by the Oracle but supported by some chiefs for personal gain.
The drama on Sunday was interesting as Prince Jide came saying he wants to make sacrifice for his late Father in the Palace, and worship some dieties in the community.
The said Palace belongs to Jide’s Father Late Oba Adeyemi Adefowora, but it was said that King Gboyega restricted him from entering the palace on the grounds that he (Prince Jide) did not inform him of his coming. There was enough uproar as Prince Jide got angry and was bent on entering the palace
Minutes after, the King allowed Prince Jide into the palace to carry on the traditional rites that brought him to the royal abode.
A chief who does not want his name in print said Prince Jide has come to collect what belongs to him, that he (Prince Jide) is the rightful owner of the throne. Prince Jide was also quoted to be saying he wants to be King.
Oba Adegboyega Adefowora, the Alaketu of Ketu Kingdom, became more infuriated when some members of the community declared their full support for Prince Jide Adefowora, hailing, singing and praising him.
The highly elated supporters of Prince Jide were heard chanting ‘kabiyesi oh, welcome your royal highness’.
Some angry residents who spoke with PorscheClassy lamented heavily and registered their displeasure about the ongoing crisis, many said they they’re tired of the reign of Oba Adegboyega.
Some members of the community also accused him of not doing anything as King for the community expect for collecting people’s land, some even argued that the royal father is rude and doesn’t treat his chiefs right.
PorscheClassy gathered that the Odofin of Ketu Kingdom, an elderly chief has called Prince Jide in line with some chiefs to look into the matter.
Meanwhile, Oba Adegboyega, we gathered has ordered in policemen but nobody was arrested.
As at Tuesday, it was gathered that the King has suspended the Odofin whom he believed to be supporting Prince Jide.
A young man who spoke with our correspondent under anonymity said, since he (King Gboyega) became king everything has become worse. There is no light, no development and he doesn’t seek elders advise before doing anything.
Yesterday 4th of November 2015, the king declared to the community through it town crier that every parent should warn their child not to talk carelessly or walk wrongly.
