Popular Nigerian streamer Peller has sparked conversation online after revealing that his father once threatened to publicly call him out over alleged neglect—despite receiving substantial financial support from him.
Peller made the disclosure during a livestream while reacting to the ongoing family controversy involving content creator GehGeh, whose younger sister recently accused him of failing to support his family despite his wealth.
Drawing parallels with his own experience, Peller said his situation could have escalated even further, noting that his father had previously considered taking their grievances to social media.
“You see the way GehGeh’s family are dragging him online, my own goes worse—and it might be my daddy because they have threatened me with it before. And I have given these people a lot,” he said.
The streamer detailed the extent of his financial support, revealing that he gifted his father a car and has consistently provided monetary assistance. He also disclosed that he has opened multiple shops for his mother as part of his efforts to support his family.
Despite his contributions, Peller said his father continued to make financial demands, even immediately after receiving the car gift.
“My daddy still asked me for money the very day that I gave him a car. I gave him the money, and he still called me the next day to ask for more,” he recounted.
He added that his mother had advised him to stop giving his father money, but he chose to continue out of gratitude for his upbringing.
“My mummy was even telling me to stop… but I keep giving him money because he paid for my school fees while growing up,” he explained.
Peller’s revelations have added another layer to the growing discourse around family expectations, financial responsibility, and the pressures faced by successful young Nigerians in supporting relatives.
