Veteran Nollywood actor Olu Jacobs was laid to rest on Friday at This Present House Church in Lekki, Lagos, in a solemn funeral service attended by family, friends, industry colleagues and dignitaries.
The service drew a strong presence from the entertainment community, who came to honour the late thespian’s decades-long contribution to Nigerian film and theatre.
Entertainment entrepreneur and singer Darey Art Alade delivered a moving performance of his hit song Pray For Me, which features both Olu Jacobs and his wife, veteran actress Joke Silva. The actor’s son, Olugbenga Jacobs, also shared his father’s biography with the congregation.
The burial followed a Night of Tributes held on Wednesday at Glover Memorial Hall on Lagos Island, where Nollywood stars and well-wishers gathered to celebrate the life and legacy of the celebrated actor.
Olu Jacobs died on 16 September 2026 at the age of 84.
