The Abayomi Hunye Campaign Organisation has rejected claims that its candidate scored zero votes in the Ogun State All Progressives Congress governorship primary, accusing the camp of Senator Solomon Adeola of attempting to undermine Hunye and influence an ongoing court case.

The campaign made the allegations in a statement signed by its Media Aide, Femi Oyewale, in response to comments attributed to Kayode Odunaro, Adeola’s media adviser, during a radio programme.

Odunaro reportedly said Hunye scored “zero votes” across the 236 wards in Ogun State. The Hunye campaign dismissed the claim as fabricated, arguing that it was inconsistent with what it described as Hunye’s support base across the state’s three senatorial districts.

The organisation also challenged a statement attributed to Odunaro that a court had confirmed Hunye’s alleged zero-vote result.

According to the campaign, the case, Abayomi Semako Hunye v. APC & 2 Ors., remains pending and no judgment has been delivered.

It said the case was recently adjourned to November 18, 2026, after proceedings involving Senior Advocates of Nigeria representing the parties.

The campaign accused Adeola’s camp of attempting to create a court verdict through public commentary before the matter is determined by the judiciary.

“Where did Odunaro get his fictional ‘court verdict’?” the statement asked, alleging that the comments were aimed at misleading the public and prejudicing the proceedings.

The organisation also dismissed claims concerning Hunye’s alleged suspension from the APC, describing them as political intimidation.

It called on Adeola and his supporters to stop what it described as media trials and allow the court to determine the disputes surrounding the party’s governorship primary, nomination process and candidate legitimacy.

The campaign said it remained confident in the judicial process and urged APC members and residents of Ogun State to disregard what it described as false claims about Hunye.

The court is expected to resume proceedings in the case on November 18.
