Renowned gospel singer Deborah Fasoyin has dismissed widespread claims circulating online that she had died.
The 86-year-old musician, famous for the evergreen Yoruba gospel song Odun n Lo Sopin, described the reports as false and misleading.
In a video statement addressing the rumour, Fasoyin assured fans that she remains alive and in good health.
Singer Says She Is “Hale and Hearty”
According to the veteran singer, the rumour stemmed from misinformation spreading across social media platforms.
Fasoyin, who recently marked her 86th birthday on March 1, 2026, said she remains “hale and hearty” and grateful for her continued well-being.
“I am happy to tell you that I’m hale and hearty and what you’ve seen on Facebook is fake. I will finish strong and healthy with supernatural sound health and I will go to my Father in peace,” she said.
The viral claim had earlier triggered a wave of condolence messages online, with many users sharing her photograph accompanied by “RIP” captions.
The singer expressed appreciation to supporters and well-wishers who reached out with concern following the rumours.
She also expressed confidence that she would continue to live in good health and reach old age peacefully.
