Nigerian singer Chidinma Ekile has disclosed that she once left the country with every intention of settling abroad permanently, only to return after sustained encouragement from the chief executive of Eezee Conceptz.

Speaking at a recent Eezee Conceptz event, Chidinma recounted how she travelled overseas and began processing the necessary documents to remain there indefinitely. “I travelled. I ran away from Nigeria. I was processing my papers not to come back to Nigeria, but for some reason, it didn’t work,” she said.

While she was abroad, the Eezee Conceptz CEO was the only person from Nigeria who consistently reached out and offered support. Those regular calls, she explained, gave her the strength to return home.

Upon her return, Chidinma approached the executive with a clear request: a gospel music contract that would allow her to prioritise her relationship with God. He agreed, offering terms so favourable that her lawyer described the deal as resembling “charity.”

Chidinma emphasised that her move from secular to gospel music was not driven by an initial ambition to become a gospel artiste. Instead, it stemmed from a personal desire to deepen her faith and devote more time to God.

Her story underscores the significant role of mentorship and genuine support in shaping an artiste’s career path, as well as the personal and spiritual considerations behind her transition.
