A physically challenged voter, Aminat Akinsola, has commended officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for the respectful treatment she received while casting her vote in the ongoing Osun State governorship election.
Akinsola, who voted at Ejigbo Ward 4, Unit 6, said she was particularly pleased with the attention and assistance provided to her at the polling unit because of her condition.
“I’m so happy because I was treated with respect while I was trying to cast my vote. I was even the first person to be accredited,” she said.
She also applauded the peaceful conduct of the election, expressing confidence that the eventual result would reflect the wishes of the people of Osun State.
Meanwhile, security personnel deployed to the polling unit were seen maintaining order and coordinating arrangements to ensure that voters exercised their franchise without disruption.
Young voters were also organised separately according to gender as part of measures put in place to ensure an orderly voting process.
