It’s no news that the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari, loves to lead a simple life.

The new president whose pleasures are cheap, rocked a well-embroidered off-white garb and finished the look with a woven Hausa cap to his inauguration ceremony in Abuja, Nigeria yesterday.

The 72 year-old Nigerian Head of State was sworn in at the Eagles Square, Abuja, yesterday (Friday, May 29,2015).

According to Encomium, the material which must have been just 10 yards goes for N15,000 and a Hausa tailor would have pocketed another N15,000 for his expertise.

The tailors (in Agege, Lagos) reportedly pocket about N20,000 for the elaborately embroidered tog so since its suspected that the apparel was made in Daura, Katsina (or somewhere in the North), it would be a fraction of that. Same for the cap, which could be as low as N3,000 in the North.

Asides his shoes, watch and glasses, his outfit shouldn’t be up to N40,000.
