Nollywood actress and filmmaker Iyabo Ojo has opened up about her past marriage, revealing that she now believes the relationship should have ended much earlier.

Ojo made the revelation during an interview on the Morayo Show, where she discussed her decision to leave the marriage and whether she had any regrets about ending it.

Reflecting on the experience, the actress said she believes the marriage should have ended as far back as her wedding night.

She explained that although she took her time before eventually walking away, she remains grateful that she made the decision to leave.

According to Ojo, staying in the marriage could have negatively affected the lives and future of her children.

She said her decision to leave was largely driven by her desire to provide her children with a better environment while also protecting her peace of mind.

The actress stressed that her decision was not primarily about seeking freedom for herself but about ensuring that her children could grow and develop in a healthy environment.

Ojo also said maintaining her mental and emotional wellbeing was important as she raised her children.

She expressed the belief that her children might not have reached their present position had she remained in the marriage.

“The marriage should have ended even long, long before it did, it should have ended on my wedding night. Yes. So, I took my time, and if I look back, I’m so glad I didn’t stay, because if I had stayed, probably my kids wouldn’t be where they are today.

“It wasn’t about me, when I left, it was about my children. It was about me having a sound mind,” she said.
