JUST IN: EFCC Grants Bobrisky Bail, Yet To Fulfil Conditions

The Lagos zonal command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has granted administrative bail to Bobrisky, a few hours after his detention for allegedly spray-painting naira notes.

The self-described crossdresser and transgender person was taken into custody in Lagos on Wednesday night.

Bobrisky was charged with misusing the naira notes by dousing them with a solution.

Dele Oyewale, the EFCC spokesperson, said the crossdresser has been granted bail but she is yet to met the conditions.

“Yes. He has been granted administrative bail. Normally when you take in a suspect lawfully, there are some thresholds as to the number of days he can be held in custody,” Oyewale said.

“So, we are only complying with the law. We have offered him administrative bail. He has not met the bail conditions. If he meets the bail conditions today he will go home.”

The commission earlier revealed that Bobrisky would soon be charged to court upon the conclusion of investigations.

Born Okuneye Idris Olanrewaju, the social media celebrity has always been in the news for controversial reasons.

She claimed to be Nigeria’s first transgender and once admitted to having severed her genitals.

Bobrisky had in 2020 revealed that she opted for crossdressing to make ends meet after 25 years of being a man.

In September 2021, the social media celebrity also talked about some of the perks she enjoys being a “woman”.
