Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has reaffirmed the state’s commitment to securing victory for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 general elections, declaring that Kano will deliver overwhelming support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s second-term bid.
The governor made the pledge during an interactive meeting with elected and appointed government officials at the Coronation Hall of the Government House in Kano on Saturday.
According to a statement issued by the governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, Yusuf said the APC-led administration in Kano remained unwavering in its support for President Tinubu and would mobilise extensively to ensure the party records victory at all levels.
He stressed that the President’s re-election was a shared responsibility of every APC member and government official, insisting that the administration had no reason to apologise for backing Tinubu.
Governor Yusuf also directed all political appointees who are yet to register as APC members to do so without delay, saying every elected and appointed official must identify with the ruling party and contribute to strengthening its structures ahead of the 2027 polls.
He maintained that his administration was determined to ensure the APC wins the presidential, governorship, National Assembly, State Assembly and local government elections in the state.
As part of efforts to encourage political office holders, the governor approved the allocation of plots of land to more than 300 political aides, including Senior Special Assistants, Special Assistants, Senior Special Reporters, Special Reporters and Personal Assistants.
He also approved a cash grant of N100,000 for each beneficiary.
Speaking at the meeting, Speaker of the Kano State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Ismail Falgore, said the APC remained proud of promoting the achievements of President Tinubu in Kano.
Falgore noted that constituency projects executed by lawmakers, with the backing of Governor Yusuf, had strengthened the party’s popularity and positioned it strongly ahead of the 2027 elections.
Also addressing the gathering, Kano APC Chairman, Hon. Umar Haruna Doguwa, declared that the party was prepared for a political showdown with the Kwankwasiyya movement, expressing confidence that the APC would emerge victorious in the next general elections.
The meeting ended with elected and appointed government officials passing a unanimous vote of confidence on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf.
They also pledged to intensify grassroots mobilisation and work collectively to secure APC victories in all elective positions during the 2027 general elections.
