Popular media personality and content creator, Kolu, has publicly appealed to fellow entertainer Carter Efe for a N7 million loan to help secure the release of controversial singer Portable from prison.

Kolu made the emotional plea on Thursday during a live session with Carter Efe on Twitch, a moment that has since sparked widespread reactions across social media.

When Carter questioned his concern over Portable’s situation, Kolu explained that the singer played a pivotal role in changing his life and career. According to him, Portable brought him to Lagos and helped him gain the visibility that launched him into fame.

“Portable bring me come Lagos, I come blow. Na him help my life,” Kolu said in Pidgin, visibly emotional during the livestream.

Reports indicate that Portable was remanded in prison on Tuesday by the Federal High Court sitting in Ota, Ogun State, following allegations of car theft and assault levelled against him by his baby mama, Ashabi Simple.

The singer was also reportedly handcuffed and beaten while in police custody, a development that has further fueled public debate about his treatment and the circumstances surrounding his arrest.

Kolu’s public appeal has divided opinions online, with some praising his loyalty and gratitude, while others questioned the decision to crowdsource funds for a celebrity facing serious allegations.

As the situation unfolds, all eyes remain on the legal proceedings surrounding Portable and whether efforts by friends and supporters will secure his release.
