The City Boy Movement, Lagos State Chapter, has congratulated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, and all Nigerians on the country’s 66th Independence Anniversary.

In a goodwill message signed by Hon. Kanbi Owolabi, Assistant Director, Print Media, and issued by the chapter’s Director, Barr. Moyosore Ogunlewe (also Zonal Director, Youth Mobilization, South-West APC Presidential Campaign Council), the group praised the administration for what it described as unprecedented progress in infrastructure, job creation, economic diversification and governance.

Ogunlewe acknowledged that “no one is perfect” but said the President had shown a kind-hearted leadership style, an eye for talent, and the political will to confront national challenges. He argued that the fourth year of the administration marked a clear departure from the past through exemplary vision and the Renewed Hope Agenda.

The statement highlighted several youth-focused programmes, including NELFUND, 3MTT, TVET, NiYA, YouthCred, CrediCorp, NYIF, iDICE and SMEDAN. It also pointed to the 2023 Electricity Act that decentralised the power sector, the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023, economic reforms credited with attracting foreign investment, curbing inflation and boosting jobs, plus increased spending on healthcare and education.

Fuel subsidy removal was described as a bold anti-corruption measure that freed resources for development. The group further cited improved security through better intelligence and inter-agency collaboration, alongside social intervention schemes aimed at reducing poverty.

Ogunlewe said nation-building remains a collective duty and claimed personal lessons in transparency, timely service delivery and cost-effectiveness drawn from bringing governance closer to residents of Kosofe Local Government. He concluded that the President’s nearly four years in office demonstrated resilience, integrity and dedication, and therefore deserved continuity in 2027.

“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is the best for a united Nigeria at this critical point in our 66-year history. He deserves our full support for a second term to secure a brighter future and the continuity of the Renewed Hope Agenda,” the statement read.
