Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has assured former Minister of Power, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, that the state government is making every effort to secure the release of his kidnapped sister and her two sons.

Makinde gave the assurance on Friday during a condolence and solidarity visit to Adelabu, expressing sympathy with the former Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria and his family over the unfortunate incident.

Speaking with journalists after the visit, the governor said his mission was to update Adelabu on the ongoing efforts by security agencies and the state government to ensure the safe return of the abducted victims.

According to Makinde, the government remains committed to bringing Adelabu’s sister and her children back unharmed.

“You are all aware of what happened to the younger sister of my dear brother, Oloye Adebayo Adelabu,” the governor said.

“I came to brief him on the steps the government has taken regarding the incident and to reassure him that we are doing everything possible to secure their release.

“By the grace of God, we will bring her and her sons back safely,” he added.

The governor’s visit comes amid growing concern over the abduction, with residents and well-wishers expressing hope for the victims’ safe return. Authorities have yet to disclose further details about the circumstances surrounding the kidnapping as investigations and rescue efforts continue.
