NEMA Begins Distribution of Relief Materials in Otunba Gbenga Daniel’s Constituency

The first batch of the beneficiaries of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) in Ogun East were given the relief materials in a symbolic presentation to kickstart the statewide distribution at the Trade Fair Complex in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital on Monday, December 4, 2023.

It will be recalled that the senator representing Ogun East Senatorial District, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, raised a motion at the National Assembly on July 5, which led to the subsequent assessment visit in August by NEMA to areas affected by flood in Sagamu and Ijebu.

The distribution was done by South West zonal officials of NEMA, who came from Ibadan and supervised by leaders and coordinators of the non-governmental organisation by Otunba Daniel, Gateway Movement, drawing from all the nine local government council areas under the Ogun East Senatorial District.
The rest of the items will be distributed across all the local government council areas for distribution to the flood victims.

The senator was represented at the ceremony by former ALGON Chairman in Ogun State and former member, Ogun State House of Assembly, Hon. John Obafemi, who is also the Deputy Director General of the Gateway Movement in Ogun State and the Chief of Staff to Senator Daniel, Dr. Babatunde Onadeko.

The event was also witnessed by the Commissioner for Special Duties in Ogun State, Mrs. Funmi Efuwape, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Special Duties
