EFON ALAAYE, EKITI STATE – In a significant move to reshape the future of one of Ekiti’s most historic towns, prominent community leader Olu Ayegbusi has been elected as the President-General of the Efon Alaaye Development Association (EADA).
A Global Mandate
The election, held on Sunday, January 4, 2026, saw delegates arriving from branches across Nigeria and overseas to cast their votes. The newly elected Executive Council has been handed a five-year mandate to steer the association’s developmental agenda until 2031.
The Power Team
Ayegbusi will be supported by a high-powered executive team featuring seasoned professionals and business icons:
- Vice President I: Kolawole Ajumobi (Broadcaster and retired Permanent Secretary)
- Vice President II: Bamidele Jonathan Olagunju (Business Icon)
- Secretary-General: Afolabi Ige (Re-elected)
The seven-man Electoral Panel, chaired by Prince Sunday Adeyemi-Adejolu, also announced the election of a robust support team, including three Assistant Secretaries-General and specialized officers for finance, publicity, and social affairs.
Royal Blessing and Inauguration
The Alaaye of Efon, Oba Emmanuel Aladejare, alongside the Alaaye-in-Council, presided over the session, offering traditional prayers for the new team’s success. The oath of office was administered by former Legal Adviser, Layi Obisesan.
In his inaugural address, Ayegbusi called for absolute cooperation from indigenes at home and in the diaspora. He vowed to leverage his five-year tenure to take Efon Alaaye’s community development to “unprecedented heights,” focusing on infrastructure, unity, and economic empowerment.
