Nigeria’s rapidly expanding events industry is giving rise to a new wave of high-earning entertainment professionals, with popular master of ceremonies Sadiq Ola Adebimpe, widely known as Sceed Barms, emerging as one of the standout figures in 2025.

The MC reportedly hosted 111 events during the year, placing him among the most in-demand professionals in Nigeria’s competitive premium event hosting market. The figure translates to an average of more than two events per week, underscoring the scale of demand in a sector driven by weddings, corporate functions, and high-profile social and political gatherings.

Industry observers say top-tier MCs in Nigeria typically handle between 50 and 120 events annually, making Sceed Barms’ performance a strong indicator of market acceptance, client satisfaction, and consistent referrals.

“Consistency at that volume suggests strong repeat business and referrals,” said Lagos-based event coordinator Michael Akomolafe. He added that reliability, crowd engagement, and adaptability remain key factors for clients hosting high-budget events.

Having entered the industry roughly four years ago, Sceed Barms has carved out a niche through energetic performances and audience engagement techniques, helping him stand out in a sector that is becoming increasingly structured and professionalised.

His client portfolio reflects Nigeria’s premium event space, reportedly including members of the Adeleke family, industrialist Razaq Okoya, as well as current and former senior government officials across southwestern Nigeria—where reputation and word-of-mouth referrals remain central to securing bookings.

Nigeria’s broader events economy continues to experience steady growth, supported by a youthful population, rising disposable income in urban centres, and a strong cultural emphasis on celebrations and large-scale gatherings. This expanding demand has created new opportunities for MCs, event planners, and related service providers across the country.
