The Ward Chairman of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) in Ketawa Ward, Gezawa Local Government Area of Kano State, Rt. Hon. Isyaku Ali Danja, has resigned from the party with immediate effect.
In a resignation letter dated March 29, 2026, and addressed to party leadership, Danja said his decision followed careful consideration, though he did not disclose specific reasons for his exit.
“I, Rt. Hon. Isyaku Ali Danja, a registered member of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), hereby wish to formally tender my resignation from the party with immediate effect,” the letter read.
He expressed appreciation to the party for the opportunity to serve, noting that his time in the NNPP afforded him valuable experiences and relationships.
“I sincerely appreciate the opportunity to have been a member of the party and for the experience and relationships built during my time as a member of the party,” he added.
Danja concluded his letter by thanking the party for its understanding and cooperation.
His resignation marks a notable development at the grassroots level in Kano politics, although it remains unclear whether he plans to join another political platform.
