Veteran Nollywood actor Yinka Quadri is marking his birthday on a reflective note, trading the usual fanfare for prayers, gratitude and a charity outreach.
In a heartfelt message shared on his social media page on Sunday, the seasoned Yoruba star revealed he would spend the day in worship and service rather than hosting an elaborate celebration.
“Alhamdulillahi Rabbil ‘Alamin. Glory be to God Almighty, for He alone makes all things possible. Today, I am +1,” Quadri wrote. He thanked Allah for the gift of life, protection and mercy, praying for long life, sound health, peace, prosperity and a purposeful existence.
The actor said he would remain at home between 8:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. for personal prayers before heading to a charity home to support those in need. Family, friends, fans and colleagues wishing to celebrate with him were invited to visit afterwards.
“Your presence, prayers, and goodwill will mean more to me than any elaborate celebration,” he stated.
Quadri’s birthday intercessions will centre on long life and divine protection for himself and his family, as well as peace, progress and prosperity for Nigeria and its people. He also prayed for the eternal rest of his late parents and his departed friend Ogogo.
Looking ahead to the new year of his life, the actor asked God to guide his steps, bless his household, increase him in wisdom and make him a blessing to others.
Quadri remains one of Nollywood’s most enduring figures, with a distinguished career spanning more than four decades across film, television and theatre.
