Popular Nigerian content creator and comedian Jubril Oladapo Gbadamosi, widely known as Officer Woos, has strongly refuted viral social media allegations claiming he was arrested for drug trafficking and that he announced the death of a colleague on his official platform.

In a statement released on June 19, 2026, through his legal representatives, Versed Attorneys, Gbadamosi described the allegations as completely false and malicious, accusing anonymous social media accounts of orchestrating a campaign to tarnish his reputation.

According to the statement, one of the claims alleged that the comedian had been in custody since 2025 over drug trafficking-related offences, while another alleged that he used his social media page to announce the death of a close associate.

Rejecting both allegations, the lawyers stated that Gbadamosi has never been arrested, investigated, or linked to any drug trafficking offence and has never announced the death of any colleague, friend, or associate on any of his social media platforms.

“Our Client has never been arrested, investigated or in any way connected to allegations of drug trafficking at any point in 2025 or at any other time. Also, our Client has never announced the death of any colleague, friend, or associate on any of his platforms,” the statement read.

The law firm described the publications as fabricated and deliberately designed to mislead the public while damaging the entertainer’s image, professional standing, and personal brand.

Citing provisions of Nigerian defamation laws and the Cybercrimes (Prohibition, Prevention, Etc.) Act, the lawyers warned that publishing or circulating unfounded criminal allegations could attract serious legal consequences.

As part of its demands, Versed Attorneys called for an immediate and unconditional retraction of the claims, a public apology on the same platforms where the allegations were published, and compliance within 48 hours.

The firm further warned that failure to comply would result in legal action against the original publishers and anyone who continues to circulate the claims. Such actions, it said, may include civil lawsuits for defamation and petitions to relevant law enforcement and regulatory authorities.

The lawyers also urged members of the public, media organisations, and fans to disregard the reports and rely solely on information released through Officer Woos’ verified channels and official legal representatives.

Officer Woos is one of Nigeria’s most popular skit makers, with a large following across Instagram, X, and YouTube, where he is known for his comedy content and collaborations within the entertainment industry.
