Ogun Deputy Governor, Noimot Salako Oyedele Fights Senator Yayi Dirty!

Senator Solomon Adeola Olamilekan aka Yayi, the Senatorial Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for Ogun West in the 2023 general elections has continued to attract controversies over his ambition to move from Lagos West to Ogun West as a senator in preparation for his 2027 Governorship ambition in Ogun State.

One person that is not in agreement with Yayi on his Senatorial ambition is the Deputy Governor of Ogun State, Eng. (Mrs.) Noimot Salako-Oyedele, who hails from the same senatorial district with him as an indigene of Ado-Odo/Ota, who ought to have naturally been his number one suppoter.

Those who know much about the matter revealed that the Noimot is against the movement of Yayi from Lagos to Ogun State as she is also nursing governorship ambition in 2027 after Governor Dapo Abiodun must have served for two terms, which was why she is against Yayi getting the Ogun West senatorial ticket.

Sources revealed that Noimot was against anybody associating with Yayi and that she blocks them from getting any appointment from the governor, adding that she was with Abiodun Akinmade, who was a contender for the office.

It was gathered that Noimot believes that Yayi does not possess the quality of being the Governor of Ogun State and sees him as an intruder, “who wants to distort the political arrangements of Ogun State after occupying various legislative offices in Lagos State for 19 years since 2003 that he got into the Lagos State House of Assembly.”

“If you want to get anything from the governor, you must find a different route or you forget it, don’t go through Yayi.

“Yayi too is not helping matters as he rarely goes to his house in Ilaro, making people complain that they don’t see him.

“Ado-Odo/Ota has an indigene of the town, High Chief AbdulGaniyu Dada, as the Senatorial Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ogun West.

“Ado-Odo/Ota’s votes alone are close to those of the other four local governments that make up Ogun West Senatorial District.

“So the deputy governor doesn’t want Yayi to succeed in his Senatorial bid in Ogun State, which will leave her as the highest political office holder that the governor will work with in 2027,” said a source.

Investigations further revealed that the Olota in council is solidly behind High Chief Dada and have promised to mobilise against Yayi in the forthcoming election.

The residents of Ogun West were said to have “discovered the antics of Yayi, who only comes around when it is time for elections.”

They were said to have stated that “we are wiser now, we will not allow Yayi to blindfold us with his ambition.

“We want someone that has been with us, who will identify with us rather than a man, who will stay perpetually in Abuja after getting our mandate only to start spending money again in 2026 for his 2027 governorship ambition.”
