Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, and Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Tinubu, were among dignitaries who attended the 2026 Ojude Oba Festival held in Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State, on Friday.
The colourful cultural celebration showcased the rich heritage of the Ijebu people, with various groups making grand entrances in coordinated traditional outfits adorned with flowing agbadas, elegant geles, and beaded accessories.
Celebrated annually on the third day after Eid-el-Kabir, the Ojude Oba Festival attracts thousands of visitors from across Nigeria and abroad, including political leaders, celebrities, business figures, and members of the Nigerian diaspora.
This year’s edition carries special significance as it marks the first festival since the passing of the Awujale of Ijebuland, Oba Sikiru Adetona, who died in July 2025 after a remarkable 65-year reign.
