The ancient town of Ijebu-Ode in Ogun State came alive on Friday as socio-cultural groups and age grades made grand entrances at the annual Ojude Oba Festival in breathtaking traditional outfits.

Videos shared by EwesoOnline on Instagram showcased the colourful spectacle, capturing participants adorned in coordinated attires that reflected the richness of Yoruba culture and the pride of the Ijebu people.

Men appeared in flowing agbadas crafted with luxurious fabrics, while women dazzled in elegantly styled geles, lace outfits, and intricately beaded accessories, creating a stunning display of royalty, glamour, and cultural identity.

The festival, celebrated every year on the third day after Eid-el-Kabir, remains one of Nigeria’s most celebrated cultural gatherings, attracting dignitaries from across the country and beyond.

Top politicians, celebrities, business moguls, and members of the Ijebu diaspora joined thousands of visitors at the event, which honours the rich heritage of Ijebuland and pays tribute to the revered Awujale of Ijebuland.

Ojude Oba continues to stand as a symbol of unity, tradition, and the enduring cultural legacy of the Ijebu people.
