The Osun State First Lady, Chief Titilola Adeleke, has distributed a ₦25 million business grant donated by Senator Oluremi Tinubu to traders across the state, in a move aimed at strengthening grassroots economic empowerment and supporting small-scale enterprises.

The grant, which benefited 500 traders from different parts of Osun State, was presented on Thursday at the Osun State Government House, Oke-Fia, Osogbo.

Speaking at the event, Mrs Adeleke lauded Senator Tinubu for her sustained commitment to uplifting women, particularly those at the grassroots level, through initiatives that enhance livelihoods and improve family welfare.

She advised the beneficiaries to utilise the funds judiciously, warning against spending the grants on non-essential or frivolous activities.

According to her, prudent investment of the grants would not only boost business profits but also ease economic pressures on families and enable the traders to contribute meaningfully to economic growth and societal development.

Earlier, the wife of the Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, Dr Adenike Adeleke, commended Nigeria’s First Lady for consistently prioritising the welfare of women, children, girls, the elderly, and widows through targeted empowerment programmes.

Also speaking, the Iyaloja-General of Osun State, Chief Mary Oyebode, assured that the beneficiaries would deploy the grants strictly for business purposes, pledging responsible utilisation on their behalf.
