The presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Peter Obi, has paid a condolence visit to businessman and social commentator, Isaac Fayose, following the death of his wife.

During the visit, the former Anambra State governor expressed his sympathy to Fayose and his family, offering prayers for the peaceful repose of the deceased and comforting the bereaved during the difficult period.

Obi was received by Fayose, whose recent meeting with Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Tinubu, had sparked widespread political discussions on social media.

The condolence visit comes shortly after Obi also visited former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, to sympathise with him over the death of his mother.

Political observers have described the visits as part of Obi’s consistent practice of standing with political associates and public figures during periods of personal loss, regardless of political affiliations or differences.

Fayose recently came under criticism after his meeting with Seyi Tinubu, with some opposition supporters suggesting he was moving closer to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) or considering a defection.

However, Fayose dismissed the claims, insisting that his interaction with the President’s son should not be interpreted as an endorsement of the APC or a departure from his political beliefs.
