The Presidency has dismissed claims that Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi was appointed under a body known as the Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council, describing the assertion as false and misleading.

In a statement issued on Thursday from the State House, Chief of Staff to President Bola Tinubu, Femi Gbajabiamila, clarified that no such organisation exists within the Federal Government and that no appointment had been made through his office.

According to Gbajabiamila, the government became aware that Adeyemi was allegedly presenting himself to the public as having received an appointment from the Office of the Chief of Staff under the banner of the so-called Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council.

The statement stressed that the purported council is not recognised by the administration of Bola Ahmed Tinubu and has no official standing within the federal structure.

“It has come to the notice of the Federal Government of Nigeria and specifically the Office of the Chief of Staff that a certain Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi, under the auspices of an alleged organisation styled as the ‘Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council,’ is portraying himself to the general public as having been appointed by my office,” the statement read.

“The public is hereby advised that such an office does not exist under this administration, and no appointment has been made in that regard.”

The Presidency further urged foreign embassies, diplomatic missions, financial institutions, multilateral agencies, development partners, security organisations and members of the public to disregard any claims linked to the alleged council or appointment.

The disclaimer is aimed at preventing misinformation and ensuring that stakeholders do not engage with individuals or entities falsely claiming official government recognition.
