Rev. William Okoye’s Death: CAN Pays Tribute to Former FCT Chairman, Aso Rock Chaplain

The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has expressed profound grief over the death of the Founder and General Overseer of All Christians Fellowship Mission, Rev. Dr. William Uzochukwu Okoye, describing him as a devoted servant of God whose impact on the Church and the nation will endure for generations.

In a statement issued on Thursday, CAN President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, extended his condolences to the late cleric’s wife, Rev. Mrs. Toyin Okoye, his children, members of the All Christians Fellowship Mission, the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), and the wider Christian community.

Archbishop Okoh praised Rev. Okoye’s lifelong dedication to preaching the Gospel, mentoring Christian leaders, and fostering unity among believers across Nigeria.

He highlighted the late minister’s distinguished service in several key leadership positions, including Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Chapter, Chairman of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), FCT Chapter, and National Director of National Issues and Social Welfare for CAN.

The CAN President also recalled Rev. Okoye’s contributions to national development through his membership of the Presidential Advisory Council on Youth Affairs, the National Political Reform Conference, and the Nigerian Christian Pilgrims Commission. He further served as chaplain to two Nigerian Presidents and headed the Aso Rock Villa Chapel.

Paying personal tribute, Archbishop Okoh described the late cleric as a humble, selfless, and wise leader who discharged every responsibility with grace and unwavering commitment to God’s work.

“I remember Rev. Okoye as a humble servant of God who carried every responsibility entrusted to him with wisdom, grace and unwavering dedication. He was deeply committed to the unity of the Church and was always willing to lend his voice and experience whenever called upon. His counsel, calm disposition and passion for advancing God’s Kingdom will be greatly missed,” Okoh said.

He prayed for God’s comfort and strength for Rev. Okoye’s family, the All Christians Fellowship Mission, and all Christians mourning the revered preacher.

“We pray that the Lord will comfort his family, the All Christians Fellowship Mission, and all who are grieving at this difficult time. May God grant them the strength to bear this loss and uphold them with His unfailing grace,” he added.

Rev. Dr. William Uzochukwu Okoye is remembered for his unwavering commitment to Christian ministry, national service, and spiritual leadership, leaving behind a legacy that continues to inspire believers across Nigeria.
