Veteran Nollywood actor Ricardo Agbor has shared the emotional story of his 18-year journey to fatherhood, revealing that he and his wife waited nearly two decades before welcoming a set of twins.

Speaking in an interview with AfricanAList published on Sunday, the actor reflected on his marriage, unwavering faith and the challenges he endured before becoming a parent.

Agbor said he remained devoted to his wife throughout the period, despite the prolonged wait for children. He disclosed that he married her out of love, regardless of tribal differences, adding that their relationship remained peaceful and strong.

The veteran actor said he specifically prayed to God for twins and refused to lose hope despite waiting for 18 years before his prayers were answered.

According to him, the couple eventually welcomed a boy and a girl, describing the experience as a testimony of faith and patience.

Agbor also recalled the most painful moment of his life — the death of his mother. He said she had been ill for about three weeks without improvement before doctors recommended that she be flown to South Africa for further treatment.

However, he said his mother requested to be moved to another private hospital in Surulere, adding that she died in his arms as he was helping her into the car.

The actor described the incident as devastating, saying it was the first time he had cried outside of playing an emotional role in a movie.
