The Federal Character Commissioner representing Oyo State, Prince Ayodeji Abass-Aleshinloye, has congratulated the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, on the dual milestone of his 82nd birthday and the first anniversary of his ascension to the throne.
In a statement issued through his Media Aide, Oladiipo Adegoke, the commissioner described the monarch as an accomplished politician, seasoned administrator, elder statesman and highly respected traditional ruler whose wealth of experience continues to drive positive development in Ibadanland.
Prince Abass-Aleshinloye noted that since ascending the throne, Oba Ladoja has shown exemplary leadership by leveraging his vast experience, wisdom and extensive networks to advance the interests of Ibadanland and its people. He particularly commended the Olubadan for fostering peace and unity, curbing the excesses linked to the “Omo onile” land-grabbing phenomenon, and redefining the role of traditional institutions by turning royalty into a platform for meaningful progress.
The APC chieftain and former Chairman of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON) in Oyo State described the monarch’s first year in office as one marked by visionary leadership, unity, peace and tangible development. These efforts, he said, have strengthened the connection between the traditional institution and the socio-economic aspirations of the people.
Prince Abass-Aleshinloye prayed for long life, sound health, peace and a continued impactful reign for the Olubadan, expressing confidence that Ibadanland will experience even greater progress under his leadership.
