The Nigerian Senate has approved the appointments of Joseph Tegbe as Minister of Power and Ambassador Sola Enikanolaiye as Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, following a formal request by President Bola Tinubu.

The confirmation came barely 24 hours after the President transmitted their nominations to the upper legislative chamber. The request was conveyed in a letter read during plenary by Senate President Godswill Akpabio.

Both nominees underwent the mandatory screening process in accordance with constitutional requirements before receiving the Senate’s approval.

Tegbe’s nomination followed the resignation of former Power Minister, Adebayo Adelabu, who stepped down to pursue elective political office.

Meanwhile, Enikanolaiye’s appointment fills the position of Minister of State for Foreign Affairs after Ambassador Odumegwu-Ojukwu was elevated to serve as Minister of Foreign Affairs.

Prior to his nomination, Enikanolaiye, a native of Kogi State, served as Senior Special Assistant to the President on Foreign Affairs and International Relations.
