A political advocacy group, the RenewedHope Network (TRN), has called on opposition leaders across Nigeria to put aside political differences and acknowledge what it described as the growing list of achievements under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The group, founded by former Zamfara State governor Abdulaziz Yari, made the appeal during a solidarity rally held in parallel with the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Convention at Eagle Square in Abuja. The rally drew thousands of supporters celebrating what TRN termed the ongoing “re-engineering and rebuilding of Nigeria.”

Speaking on the sidelines of the convention, the head of TRN’s technical committee, Comrade Okpokwu Ogenyi, criticised critics of the administration, accusing them of deliberately fuelling dissent and misrepresenting the President’s image ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Ogenyi urged Nigerians, particularly opposition figures, to adopt a more constructive approach, stressing that the administration’s reforms require broader understanding and engagement rather than persistent criticism.

He also warned against what he described as coordinated attempts to discredit the government, insisting that such narratives undermine national progress.

Highlighting key policy outcomes under the administration’s “Renewed Hope” agenda, Ogenyi pointed to improvements in education and macroeconomic stability. He claimed that inflation had dropped significantly from 34 percent to 15 percent, while Nigeria’s foreign reserves had risen to $48.5 billion.

According to him, the government is steadily reducing its foreign debt burden, encouraging diaspora return, and fostering economic growth.
In the education sector, Ogenyi praised the introduction of the Nigeria Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), describing it as a major intervention that has eased financial barriers for underprivileged students. He added that prolonged strikes by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) have notably declined under the current administration.

Commenting on the recent wave of defections into the APC, Ogenyi attributed the party’s expanding influence to the President’s leadership and governance style.

“APC is indeed on the right path, with 32 state governors now in the party. Influential politicians are joining because the administration has redefined governance and party structure,” he said.

He further commended Abdulaziz Yari for establishing the RenewedHope Network, noting that the group would intensify grassroots mobilisation efforts to support the administration’s policies and ensure the delivery of its mandate.

“The President has shown capacity, commitment, and the will to lead Nigeria to greater heights,” Ogenyi stated.
