Siji Ogundele, popularly known as Sujimoto is a young dude that sprung into the Construction Industry from nowhere.

His emergence in the construction world has set insiders tongues wagging about his precedent in the industry.

As you read, the young dude is floundering in troubled waters. Like a rogue sailor, he has driven himself smack into an iceberg. It is unclear if he would survive or sink.

Nobody knows a thing about Siji Ogundele, not even a bit. Few weeks ago, the puzzling dude happened on the Lagos landscape like a bolt of ambiguity in a suspenseful thriller.

Siji a.k.a Sujimoto, no doubt presents an inspiration for self-starters in the country’s entrepreneurial landscape; until his emergence, he was virtually unknown. Nobody knew him or ever heard of his name nor had he at any time been on the radar of any enterprise or government agency in Nigeria.

In a nutshell, Siji was nobody; a social element not even identifiable as a neophyte in the nation’s social and economic terrains.

Yet, despite his apparent invisibility, Siji was able to make a grand entrance into the Nigerian business and socioeconomic terrain.

More fascinatingly, he was able to command the interest and presence of the construction industry’s highest-ranking juggernauts and at the formal birth and launch of his enterprise: Sujimoto, at the WheatBakers Hotel in Ikoyi, Lagos recently.

Far from the norm of the sector and the country’s socioeconomic high society’s traditional penchant for ignoring neophytes –whatever their pedigree and promise – titans and highfliers in the construction industry and associated sectors trooped out in large numbers to honour the young entrepreneur and grace the formal launch of his Sujimoto establishment.

Pundits alleged that a lot of big firms’ sent representatives and a lot of titans thronged the event out of mere curiosity to decipher who it is, that is behind the new construction firm; more importantly, the questions on everybody’s lips before, during and after the event was: “Who is behind Sujimoto?” and “Who is Sujimoto?”

While various people painted portraits of Siji’s unfolding reality, the picture gets interesting on realization that Yazeed Alrahji, Chairman of DAEM Real Estate Investment Company Saudi Arabia and Kola Aluko, oil magnate  are represented on the company’s website.

However, while Siji and Sujimoto elicited mixed feelings amongst dignitaries attending his event, the event evoked tacit and obvious applause of the invitees who couldn’t help but marvel at the work and planning that produced the grandiose event.

The event looked well put together: the crowd, venue and skills deployed at projecting Sujimoto’s branding campaign synergized harmoniously to present the event as a memorable coming out of an otherwise unknown entrepreneur and his brand into a highly competitive and intimidating business terrain.

Notwithstanding the grandeur of the event and the unforgettable memories it evokes in the hearts and consciousness of the guests and construction industry, Siji and Sujimoto’s prospective competitors are both worried and inquisitive about his history and powers behind his initiative, if any.

In the wake of his impressive entrance into the construction industry, the posers flitting through numerous minds and lips include: “Who is Siji Ogundele? What was his previous profession? What will his company, Sujimoto focus on? Will it be interior or exterior works? What experience does he have in the construction industry? Given his young age, had he ever been employed? What is his mission in the construction sector? Is he around of his own volition in pursuit of personal and legitimate interests or is he simply fronting for more powerful individuals who prefer to hide behind Siji Ogundele’s tiny frame?

Our source gathered that the likes of Kola Aluko and other so-called ‘directors’ are not involved in the business, they don’t even know the young dude at all. The question begging for an answer is; Is Siji who got the property from the popular Saro family, is using the ‘fake directors’ to push the business? Only time will tell.
