Emotions ran high on Thursday as actors and actresses in the Nigerian film industry gathered to pay their final respects to their late colleague, actress and producer Allwell Ademola, during a special prayer session and Service of Songs held in her honour.
Ademola, aged 49, passed away on December 27 after suffering a heart attack at her residence, a development that sent shockwaves across Nollywood.
The solemn event drew several prominent industry figures, including Odunlade Adekola, Iyabo Ojo, Saheed Balogun, Bolaji Amusan (Mr Latin) and Fathia Williams, who came together to celebrate her life and contributions to the industry.
One of her closest friends, Rotimi Salami, delivered an emotional tribute, calling on attendees to forgive Ademola for any perceived wrongs and to ensure that her legacy endures.
“If there’s anyone Allwell has offended, directly or indirectly, please forgive her and keep praying for her,” Salami said tearfully.
The Service of Songs was followed by a candlelight procession and an Artistes’ Night, with closing remarks scheduled for 11:00 pm.
Her burial is set to take place on Friday at the Atan Cemetery in Yaba, Lagos State.
Allwell Ademola was a respected actress, producer and singer whose impact on the Nigerian film industry earned her admiration from colleagues and fans alike. Her passing has continued to attract widespread tributes and condolences across the entertainment industry.
