Prophet Itunu Onadeko, fiancé of late Nollywood actress Temitope Osoba, has alleged that the actress died at a police station in Ikorodu, Lagos State.
Onadeko made the claim during an interview with the Celestial Reality Check, the media investigative unit of the Celestial Church of Christ, on Saturday.
The allegation has sparked fresh questions about the circumstances surrounding Osoba’s death, which has generated speculation on social media, including claims linking her death to her previous battle with breast cancer.
According to Onadeko, he received a phone call from an unidentified person around midnight informing him that Osoba had died at a police station in Ikorodu.
“It was a random person that called me around 12 am that she died in a police station in Ikorodu,” he said.
The prophet, who is the Shepherd-in-Charge of CCC Onibuore Cathedral in Bogije, Ibeju-Lekki, said he did not know the specific police station where the actress allegedly died.
He added that he subsequently reported himself at a nearby police station.
Onadeko also disclosed that Osoba had visited a woman identified as Mrs Kehinde Osoba shortly before her death.
According to him, Mrs Kehinde Osoba also runs a church, and the late actress had expressed her intention to visit both the woman and him.
“She had insisted to see Mrs Kehinde Osoba, she also has a church, although she said she wanted to see me too. When they left for there, I told them that I wasn’t chanced to go that day because of church programmes,” he said.
He further stated that a hairdresser with whom Osoba had been staying accompanied her on the visit.
Onadeko said he remained in communication with Osoba during the period and recalled that she made a social media post shortly before he learnt of her death.
“The hairdresser that Tope was sleeping in her place was the person that went with her. We maintained communication and she even posted ‘Ogo tun tun’ until I heard that she died in the police station,” he added.
The prophet also dismissed allegations that Osoba was poisoned or maltreated before her death, describing some of the claims surrounding her final days as inaccurate.
However, Onadeko admitted that he could not independently identify the particular police station where he alleged the actress died.
The circumstances surrounding Temitope Osoba’s death remain unclear, and the claims made by her fiancé have not been independently verified.
