Blessing Obasi, wife of Nollywood actor Stan Nze, has opened up about the online criticism she faced after their marriage, revealing that trolls mocked her appearance and questioned their relationship.
Speaking in a recent interview, the actress said she was heavily criticised after their first wedding anniversary, with social media users making hurtful comments about her teeth and physical appearance.
“I was dragged on my first wedding anniversary because of my teeth. Trolls told me to stop laughing publicly because of my dentition,” she said.
Obasi also recalled that the criticism started after Stan Nze shared her photo online for the first time. According to her, many people claimed she looked much older than her husband and doubted that their marriage was real.
“When my husband posted my picture for the first time, people said I was 10 years older than him. They also said it was a movie because they didn’t believe he would actually marry me,” she said.
The actress added that the online attacks also affected her husband, saying one of his interviews was taken out of context and misrepresented on social media.
“My husband granted an interview one time; his words were twisted on social media,” she said.
Despite the criticism, Obasi said she remained committed to her marriage and refused to let online opinions define her relationship.
