Veteran Nollywood actor Jide Kosoko has urged Nigerians to exercise patience with President Bola Tinubu’s administration, saying the government should be allowed enough time to implement its reforms before its performance is judged.

Speaking in an interview with FeelrightnewsTV, Kosoko compared the administration’s policies to the construction of a building, noting that it would be unfair to assess the outcome before the project is completed.

He said major national reforms require time to yield results and stressed that President Tinubu, like every other leader, is not perfect.

Kosoko also addressed criticisms of the administration, claiming that some individuals shape public opinion against the government, particularly among young Nigerians. He urged members of Generation Z to think independently and not be swayed by narratives circulated online.

The veteran actor further alleged that some activists who present themselves as independent critics of the government are backed by political interests. However, he did not name any individual or provide evidence to support the allegation.

His comments come amid ongoing debates over the Tinubu administration’s economic and governance reforms, with many Nigerians expressing concerns over the rising cost of living while others argue that the policies require more time to achieve their intended objectives.

While acknowledging the economic hardship faced by many citizens, Kosoko maintained that direct financial handouts would not provide a lasting solution because of Nigeria’s large population. He urged Nigerians to remain patient and allow the administration’s programmes to be fully implemented before evaluating their success.
