Olatunde Ayemi, Chairman, Skye Bank made the headlines when he recently donated N2 billion to the PDP for its 2015 election campaigns. He has suddenly become the new money man, pushing aside the likes of Aliko Dangote and Femi Otedola at fund raising events. How Ayeni spends his billions is obviously not my business. However, the image of the publicly-quoted companies he is linked to matters a great deal when he is rolling out money. Ayeni has been silent about some widely-held perceived impression of him. Some are alleging that he is a slush fund manager. Silence can be dangerous here. I would love to see him clearing this in 2015.
On the flip side, I am sure this new money man must have heard of the likes of Gates Foundation and Ford Foundation. Ayeni, please put a chunk of your money in a world class foundation that would impact positively on millions of challenged Nigerians. This way, your name will be written in Gold.
