Controversial relationship expert, Blessing Okoro, widely known as Blessing CEO, has doubled down on her breast cancer disclosure, insisting she owes no apology despite mounting public criticism.

Speaking in a recent interview with social media personality Egungun of Lagos, released on Saturday, Okoro pushed back against widespread claims that she had been diagnosed with stage four breast cancer, describing the narrative as a possible miscommunication.

“I’m not a doctor. Maybe I just passed the message that was given to me,” she explained, adding that she is yet to receive a confirmed staging of her condition. According to her, further consultations with her oncologist in the coming days will provide clarity.

The influencer also addressed controversies surrounding public donations, firmly dismissing reports that she raised N100 million. “I never reached N100 million,” she said, clarifying that the total sum received was N13 million.

When confronted about calls for an apology from those who felt misled, Okoro remained defiant: “For what? Who did I hurt?”

She revealed that she has not commenced chemotherapy, noting that her most recent procedure was a biopsy. Recounting her health journey, Okoro said she initially discovered a lump last year, which doctors first deemed non-cancerous before subsequent tests confirmed it as malignant.

On the issue of transparency, she declined to release her medical records publicly, describing them as private. “I can’t post my results online. It’s personal stuff,” she said.

While acknowledging the possibility of a mastectomy, she expressed hope for alternative treatment options, stressing that survival remains her priority.

Amid the controversy, Okoro used the platform to promote breast cancer awareness, urging women to conduct regular self-examinations and seek early medical attention if abnormalities are detected.

The interview comes as public scepticism continues to grow over her initial announcement, which drew sympathy and financial support but later sparked accusations of misinformation and calls for accountability.
