The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has called on the Federal Government to issue a 90-day ultimatum to Nigeria’s security chiefs to eliminate terrorism or relinquish their positions.

Adeboye made the appeal in a video reposted on his official X account on Tuesday, expressing concern over the persistent security challenges confronting the country and the continued activities of terrorist groups.

The respected cleric stressed that those entrusted with safeguarding the nation must be held accountable for achieving concrete results in the fight against insecurity.

According to him, the government should demand swift and decisive action from the nation’s security leadership.

“If I were asked to make suggestions, I would quietly tell our government, ‘Move fast and tell our security chiefs: get rid of these terrorists within 90 days or resign,’” Adeboye stated.

The RCCG leader also urged authorities to intensify efforts against individuals and groups providing financial, logistical and other forms of support to terrorist organisations.

He argued that security operations should extend beyond armed terrorists to include those who sponsor and facilitate their activities, regardless of their influence or social standing.

“When giving orders to the service chiefs this time around, it should be made clear that they are not only to eliminate the terrorists; they should eliminate their sponsors, no matter how influential they may be,” he added.

Adeboye’s remarks come amid growing public concern over insecurity in several parts of the country, including recent incidents involving the abduction of schoolchildren and teachers in Oyo State.

His comments add to increasing calls for stronger measures to address terrorism, kidnapping and other security threats affecting communities across Nigeria.
